Is your shop a mess

This time a year in my shop it is a terrible mess. I try to cleanup every Friday. What you see here, wood chips, unwaxed bowls, and stray bits should all be gone and put away by the end of the day. By the way that is a pile of chips from 110 large bowls. After coring it will be roughly 275. Also a close up of this beautiful Silver Maple wood. These will sell themselves.

  1. I just went through a clean-up and reorganization of epic proportions so I know what you mean. My shop is smaller than yours and I am a pack-rat. Not a good combination. It took me about 2 weeks to reclaim my shop and so far, I am keeping it clean.

  2. Hi Mike,
You just need Clinton to hold a big bag open as you are turning so the shavings don't touch the floor. I have just finished rough turning myself and got the kilns switched on. Glad to get the humidity in the shop back to normal.

    Glenn

  4. I'll take such a mess every day if it means I get to work in my shop like you do...
For me this is something to achieve, not a problem (when I get to such a "problem" I will deal with it).

  7. Huh, and here I always figured my shop would be wetter, - only turning green wood. I have to sweep up every day or it drives me nuts!

What kind of dust collection do you guys use?
